We are firm believers that communication is the key to running a successful project. Our project managers and superintendents maintain daily contact with the subcontractor, clients, and office staff to ensure that the project is running smoothly while holding to the schedule. Safety is top priority among our employees. Our employees are First Aid and CPR trained and certified. Several of our project managers and foremen have passed the OSHA Safety certification program. In addition, R.G. Electric is a drug-free work place. All employees are required to pass a drug screen upon hiring and are subjected to random testing throughout the year. ROBERT G. DASHIELL, JR., PE - CEO
Mr. Dashiell, a 1950 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, has over 50 years of cumulative experience in electrical design, drafting, construction supervision and site inspections. He has been responsible for electrical engineering on projects including the construction and renovation of administration offices, hospitals, educational facilities, newspaper facilities, emergency backup generator design, lighting design, energy demand studies, underground utility relocations, and upgrading high voltage distribution systems.
R. GATEWOOD DASHIELL, III - President
Gatewood Dashiell has over 25 years experience in all phases of General and Electrical contracting. He has supervised the planning and construction for a wide variety of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects. Mr. Dashiell has participated in several “fast track” projects and provides great flexibility in scheduling to meet clients’ needs. He has completed the N.E.C. course and stays abreast on all new construction requirements to assure that projects will be completed in accords with the latest Federal, State, and local requirements.
WILLIAM E. DASHIELL, PE - Professional Mechanical Engineer
Billy Dashiell has over 20 years experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision. Billy graduated from Old Dominion University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and construction of commercial and industrial facilities. Billy is in charge of the design of building electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and process systems. His involvement continues through the construction administration to the equipment testing, and operation.
ROBERT T. BROWN - CFO/Project Manager
Rob Brown has been with RG Electric since October of 2002. He graduated in May of 2002 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting and finances. In addition to his financial responsibilities Rob also serves as project manager on several projects at a time.
SUSAN D. BROWN - Director of Human Resources
Susan Brown, a graduate of James Madison University, has been with RG Electric for over 20 years. She handles all inquiries pertaining to employment, payroll, benefits, and insurance. Susan also oversees the safety programs and drug screening of current employees and new hires. She is the point of contact for prospective employees and can provide information about the apprenticeship programs we offer.
BEN HOLT - General Manager
Ben joined RG Electric in October 2005 to serve as General Manager. He formerly worked for a lighting supplier as a sales manager. Ben manages the daily operations and scheduling of manpower. In addition, he is the customers' point of contact for all service calls.
PAUL COPPERTHITE - Project Manager/General Superintendent
Paul has over 15 years experience in General and Electrical construction. He has been part of our team since 1992. Paul manages projects of all sizes and types. He coordinates and oversees all work including RG crews and subcontractors. Moreover, Paul makes sure the projects are holding to schedule while meeting the needs of the owner.
KENNY JOHNSON - Project Manager/Estimator
Kenny Johnson has been with RG Electric for over 10 years. He has served as an electrician, electrical superintendent, and now acts as project manager and estimator on numerous general and electrical projects. He maintains daily contact with the crews and superintendents to ensure the job runs smoothly while adhering to the schedule.
WILLIAM BODNOVICH - Estimator
William Bodnovich has been an employee of RG Electric since 1995. William has extensive knowledge of all phases of the electrical division. He has estimated projects for all building types including commercial, residential, industrial, educational, marine facilities, and healthcare facilities.
